We thought it would be a good idea to explain our CHECKOUT PROCESS. This explanation assumes that you got to this page by clicking the link that reads "CHECKOUT Process Explanation" on our "View Cart" page when you were donating or purchasing something from our online Donations/Purchases Catalog, which, if you did not get here from that link, can be found at Go to Donate To Global Love In Action.
Our e-commerce store provider offers mostly a traditonal shopping cart for items that you purchase and which are typically delivered to a physical address. We had some modifications made to the language you see on the various cart buttons and screens, but some of the '"e-commerce" cart language could not be changed because of security issues. Notice the "https" in the address bar. The "s" indicates that you are on a secure connection.
Once you "Begin Checkout Process" you will see words on forms that have nothing to do with donations which you are making to Global Love In Action. However, if you purchased some of our Ecuadorian Handcrafted items then the form language will apply and it is language that you normally expect to see in a secure cart checkout process.
But, for our donors, know this:
1. Delivery Location and Zip Code are required fields to progress through the e-commerce system CHECKOUT process even though they technically have nothing to do with "donations" which are "delivered" to us ( and not to your location as would be the case if you were purchasing actual items) via our credit card processing merchant.
2. "View Order Total" applies to purchasers of our Ecuadorian Handcrafted Items and will also give you, the donor, your "Donation Total" instead of your "Order Total". This is one of the places we could not get the e-commerce cart provider to make a change in the wording of the "View Order Total" button.
3. On the next screen you see "Tax" and "Delivery" with $0.00 in each field. Those amounts will always be $0.00 for any donation and even any item actually purchased from us (tax and delivery are included in the posted prices for our Ecuadorian Handcrafted Items). So ignore both Tax and Delivery fields since they are set to $0.00 and will continue to be set to $0.00.
4. The next screen asks for your name, address, phone number, email address and whether or not you would like to receive our e-Newsletter. All of this information is needed to process both donations and the purchases of items. However, we are very strict on how we use the information. You can read our Privacy and Refund Policies for a complete explanation of how we might use this information.
5. The next screens are Place Order, Payment Method and Process Payment screens. These are normal e-commerce cart screens, but in your case (if you are donating) they actually mean Commit To Donate, What Payment Method are you going to use, and Process My Donation.
We hope this brief explantion of our CHECKOUT PROCESS is helpful. If you have any questions please use our Contact Us form and be as specific as possbile. Your question(s) will be promptly answered.
PLEASE JUST CLOSE THIS WINDOW TO RETURN TO THE CHECKOUT PROCESS. THANK YOU!
