We are blessed to have truly wonderful pastors that work with us from time to time. They call us friends and we called them our "divinely arranged" pastors/friends:
Guillermo Vasconez
was born in Panama and was a communist before becoming a Christian. The Lord called him to Ecuador in 1984 and since coming to Ecuador he has been involved in numerous ministries. He was Pastor of the very first Church of God in Quito and helped plan the second Church of God in Quito.
Guillermo served as the National Overseer of the Indian Area of the Church of God in Ecuador on two different occasions, for a total of almost 20 years. In such capacity he worked extensively with the Kichwa Indians. He created several educational programs, started 3 high schools, started day care facilities, began Bible schools, founded Christian leaders’ training programs and began various development programs for women. In the last few years of his Overseer work he began working with the Shuar Indians.
He also co-founded the "Mi Tambo Home" for street children and this ministry has helped hundreds of children over the years. Part of that work involved establishing a protection system for those children still on the street and the implementation of a number of other initiatives for promotion of children’s rights and Christian family values.
Since 2006 Guillermo has been the assistant Pastor of a very active and growing church in Ambato, while he continues his missionary ministry by bringing help to the Indian communities and the children of Ecuador by working with short term missionary teams. A very important part of his ministry is to inspire others to serve the Lord and through the years he has worked with and developed numerous pastors and missionaries.
Guillermo is married to Monica Benavides. Their three daughters are Yinny, Lilibeth and Daniela. The entire Vasconez family is committed to Guillermo’s ministry work.
