We love to host medical teams. Short and simple reasons:
1. Dr. Scott Naley, one of our Directors, is an emergency room doctor and he has been to Macas, Ecaudor on a medical mission team trip and can give valuable input to teams planning on conducting a trip to our area.
2. Our President, Dean Johnson, is an RN by profession, has participated in over a dozen mission trips and is in her element when she plans for an upcoming medical team visit. She often works hand in hand with visiting medical teams.
3. When the Lord is ready, He will provide a mobile medical unit that can be navigated across the poor roads of Ecuador to fairly inaccessible places where the need for medical work is great and the need for Christ is even greater.
4. VIMM, Volunteers In Medical Missions, is one of our supported organizations that has done wonderful work in our area. We look forward to having them back soon.
5. Our sanctuary facility, with chairs removed, doubles as a large medical triage facility and teams are welcome to hold neighborhood and city wide medical clinics on our premises.
6. The neighborhood in which our facilities are located has made a formal request that we bring medical teams to our facility at least twice a year so that the neighborhood residents may receive much needed treatment.
7. The seventh reason, and the list could go on well beyond seven, above and beyond all of the above stated reasons that we like to and are ready to host medical mission teams is the fact that medical team work leads to relationship building with the people served -- and relationship building is our primary way of getting doors to open that allow us to share Christ and win lost souls. After all, that's really our mission, the fulfillment of The Great Commission.
