As with our planned purchase of our mini-transportation bus, we don't actually yet own our mobile medical & dental unit. But we will, because HE lives. And HE is working in the Amazon area of Ecuador.
We haven't finalized the plans yet, but we are in discussion with a preferred manufacturer who understands our mission and is going to work with us to ensure we get both the best price and the best quality that can be obtained for the needs of our teams. It will be a combination medical & dental bus and present plans are for it to be 45' long in order to accomodate both types of care needs.
For your information, we have already been approached by neighbors who received medical care from one of our supported organizations on a recent trip. VIMM, Volunteers In Medical Missions, did an outstanding job of providing medical services to community residents and they have inquired about whether or not we are going to continue to have medical teams return to Macas. We assured them that the answer is a loud "yes". There were several salvations on the day that VIMM did their medical work on the grounds across from our property.
Global Love In Action has committed to community leaders that we will open the doors of our mobile medical unit at least twice a year for treatment of our neighbors. The community will get free medical treatment and we will have numerous evangelic outreach opportunities. The medical & dental mobile unit will be used in many parts of Ecuador and there will always be ministry opportunities directly connected to its use.
