Mission work is physically demanding. It is important to provide our visiting mission teams with the facilities they need for proper rest, sanitation, meeting facilities and food. You can read and see our planned facilities.
We began planning the facilities in early 2007. In August of 2009 we were able to acquire a parcel of land that connects to the rear of our existing parcel -- this parcel is approximately 35% of the size of the orginal parcel and it extends to the street that is soon to be finished behind our main facility, thus giving us access to two different streetfronts.
The acquisition of that additional property was literally a God send because the man that owned it had owned it for 20 years and had no intention of selling it to anyone for any reason. Once we were finally able to meet with him it took less than 1 hour to come to an agreement for the purchase of the land; all paperwork and payment were completed within two hours of agreement. So it took three hours to for the Lord to accomplish something that no human had accomplished in twenty years. We truly had Holy Spirit intervention. Thank You Lord!
What that additional piece of property does for us is to allow us to store our mobile medical unit and our mini-transportation bus on our property instead of renting property somewhere else. It also provides enough space for a children's playground. All we have to do, besides raise the needed funds (you can help us by making a gift or pledge), is open the wall up that we have already built in order to access the new property and make both parcels operate as one large parcel. Visit our GLIA Galleries to see the existing wall we have built and photos of the foundation work already completed.
No doubt our physical facilities, when completed, will be exceptional and will be a much welcomed "home base" for our visiting msssion teams.
